Delegation from Sudan to Issue National documents
Friday, 09 May 2008

The Delegates coming to issue Sudan National Documents are said to visit 30 communities throughout the United States. While it is easy to use the SPLM Chapters to facilitate the function of informing individuals within the communities to meet the group, we have come to the realization that there are states and cities where there are not existing chapters established. It is therefore important that community leaders contact us with contact information and the list of people who need these documents so to be considered in the scheduling of these trips.

Secondly, we kindly ask community and chapter leaders to document names of individuals who may need these documents (indicate document types). Recently we have experienced a huge demand for Emergency Travel Documents. This is an opportunity to solve all these problems. Feel free to suggest or invite the delegates to visit your city.

Note: Children born to Sudanese parents are Sudanese and can be issued appropriate documents as Sudanese nationals if the parents choose to do so. This is an opportunity we should not let pass-by. I have raised a question concerning the children born to a Sudanese parent, with the other parent a non-Sudanese.  There was no immediate answer to the question, however, the answer to this question and others lie strictly in the book of laws; the Interim Constitution of the Sudan. Assuming every unique situation is clearly defined therein.
May 12-14, I will be out of office. For further information please contact Madam Jehan Deng via our office line.

Yours sincerely,
